MIDNIGHT REPERTORY

How the search works

The movie has to fit the request. A matching decade or streaming hint doesn’t make up for the wrong story.

Story evidence, then recommendations.

Natural-language interpretation and source-grounded reasoning are automated. Search uses catalog facts and story clues to find candidates, then checks relevant stored story evidence against what you asked for. Movie identities come from the catalog; titles aren’t invented.

We keep spoilers out of the explanation, including when a reveal is part of why a movie fits.

A few things we won’t pretend to know.

A movie’s story can support an occult setup or failed attempts to escape. It can’t guarantee how frightened you’ll feel. Missing evidence doesn’t establish low gore or no animal deaths.

If a condition is essential and we can’t verify it, we won’t waive it just to fill the page. Sometimes one good recommendation is enough. Sometimes the useful answer is a tighter question.

Streaming is a starting point.

“Most likely on” uses provider information recorded in the corpus. Current availability has not been checked. Double-check on IMDb before you settle in.

Independent recommendations.

Recommendations are not for sale. Sponsors and commercial relationships do not affect retrieval or ranking. Shared movie evidence is separate from individual taste or watch history.

Individual taste profiles and personal watch histories are not sold as identifiable data. If aggregate or anonymized usage data is ever commercialized, that will be disclosed in the privacy policy before it happens.
